Konstantinos Manolkidis

He was born in 1994 in Athens. In 2018 he completed his studies cycle in music receiving degrees in Harmony and Counterpoint with Nikos Panagiotakis and Classical Guitar Diploma with Angelos Botsis, whilst also studying Statistics at the University of Örebro in Sweden and Athens University of Economics and Business, from which he graduated the same year.

He has performed the Mario Castelnuovo-Tedesco concerto for guitar op.99 with the Athens Youth Symphonic Orchestra under the baton of Pavlos Sergiou at Koroni Music Festival, has attended masterclasses of many internationally acclaimed soloists and been awarded multiple times in international guitar competitions.

In 2019 he received the first prize at the International Guitar Composition Competition in Veria, exclusively composing a piece for the guitar duet Duo Melis. Its premiere and recording are going to be performed by Duo Melis and the piece has been published by the Canadian Productions d’Oz publishing company. His latest work “O que deu a Terra” will be recorded and included in Kostas Tosidis’ new album under the Naxos label. It premiered live in February 2021 at a contemporary music festival in Darmstadt, Germany.

In 2020, he studied for one year at the Jerusalem Academy of Music and Dance with Yoram Zerbib as a Stavros Niarchos Cultural Foundation/American-Israeli Cultural Foundation grantee. Today he is teaching guitar at the Edward Said National Conservatory in Palestine – Jerusalem and Bethlehem, and the Musical Praxis Conservatory in Athens.
